The Complete Allman Brothers Discography
by Ric Stewart
It
would be an understatement to call this a labor of love. Dean Reynolds,
perhaps the foremost Allman authority, saw and befriended the group
back in '70 - whilst taping the now released Ludlow Garage
show in Cincinnati. His collection
and every thing he could scan turns on the tap and a main river
of American Music pours forth. The 225 page book impresses with
precise reproductions including Greg and Duane in the Allman Joys
and Hour Glass. Cover art of solo releases and Duane's landmark
Aretha, Wilson Pickett, and Arthur Conley
sessions round out the picture. We're talking loving color photos
of 8-tracks, 45's and even your funky Japanese releases. All the
while keeping score on the label release no's to offer wanna be
collectors a path to completeness and enlightenment. Hats off Deano!
